About the author
Lindsey Rheinscheld always knew she wanted to equip and encourage young children as an educator. She used to line up her stuffed animals and play school for hours! Fast-forward, and she has now been in education for fourteen years, the last eight of those years working with elementary gifted and talented learners. On most days, you can find her tubing the lake with her family, trying to figure out how to beat her husband in the next board game, or ordering the biggest plate of nachos she can find!
The Story Behind the Story...
After months of focusing on growth mindset thinking and working to build grit and perseverance, author-educator Lindsey Rheinscheld noticed her own children and her students were still not gaining the momentum she’d like. One afternoon, she thought through the different ways she solved problems that day. She took her notes and observed that if she moved them around, they made the acronym F.A.S.T.! After piloting it over the next few weeks, she began to see the children she interacted with grow in creative problem-solving and self-efficacy—having an attitude of “I don’t know how to do this, but I’m going to figure it out!” From there, Lindsey's children's book - THE STEP AFTER YET - soon began taking shape!
